Part Two of a most excellent night:
The first reaction I had to Skinny Hobos was ‘wtf!!!!’ and then I tried to see where they were hiding the other 2 members of the band. This is a 2-piece band that sounds like a 4-piece, no gadgets, no gimmicks just a full on, catchy, heavy, bluesy rock sound that is both special and unique.
The performance can only be described as mesmerizing – they are both energetic performers that manage to own their part of the stage; the drummer has a keen sense of style that creates a strong presence and the frontman is so completely in love with what he is doing you can’t help but be sucked in. For a band I had never heard before I was bouncing around like a long time fan – I can’t wait to see them again.

Last up was Bakers Eddy – I have been following these boys for a while now and their growth has been impressive, especially over the last few months. The combined impact of their Europe tour plus writing new songs came together tonight in a show that was fresh, engaging and fully rocked up.
Ian and Jamie were especially awesome on stage; Ian seemed to finally find his comfort zone and got the mix of focus and movement just right. Ciarann developed an excellent rapport with the audience – just the right amount of chat without being too pretentious; possibly the best I have ever seen him. Their new material is sounding fantastic – keep an eye on these guys cause I suspect we will be hearing a lot more from them in 2016.
